Beimel has agreed to a minor-league contract with the Royals, Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Beimel will be required to pass a physical before being able to play, but the Royals have seen his MRI and believe his elbow is okay. Beimel has had both shoulder and elbow issues in 2016, but was given a clean bill of health by doctors. Beimel will likely be used for organizational depth in the bullpen. The veteran has not played in a major league game this season.
