Bote (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Iowa on Thursday, Mike McGraw of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.

Bote underwent left shoulder surgery during the offseason and had been working at the Cubs' extended spring training recently. He'll start at the keystone and bat second during his first rehab game in Iowa and should continue to play in minor-league games over the next few weeks until he's eligible to return from the 60-day injured list.
