Santana (groin) has been added to the roster at Triple-A Worcester to begin a rehab assignment, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Santana has been on the injured list for nearly a month, but he resumed baseball activities in early August and will return to game action with the minor-league club. Although it's not clear how many rehab games the 29-year-old will require, he's getting close to rejoining the Red Sox.
