Batting second for a major league baseball team, Brendan Ryan went 0-for-4 with a strikeout against the Astros on Tuesday. While we're not letting Eric Wedge off the hook, GM Jack Zduriencik deserves at least as much blame for the state of affairs that had the Mariners batting Endy Chavez and Ryan at the top of the order tonight. Ryan, while playing better over the last few weeks, entered the game with a .220/.280/.283 line.
