Barry Zito was yanked after allowing three runs on six hits over 4 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Reds. He struck out four and walked three, hurling 84 pitches before an early exit cost Zito a victory. Zito entered the game 0-1 with a 7.50 ERA and 2.08 WHIP over three July starts, so a mediocre road start in a cozy ballpark against a powerful offense actually seems promising. Zito (4.92 ERA) is an NL-only pitcher at best.
