Barring something unforeseen, the White Sox have shut down Jake Peavy for the season. Manager Ozzie Guillen said earlier this week that Peavy would make one more start, but evidently they've decided to go ahead and pull the plug now. Peavy has admitted that he still doesn't feel 100 percent recovered from his shoulder surgery, and while there wasn't really worry that he would re-injure himself, it makes sense to go ahead and shut him down since the Sox are out of the race. It's not clear who will take his spot in the rotation on Wednesday, but Dylan Axelrod is one option.
