Barrett pitched a solid ninth inning Tuesday, walking just one batter and earning his 4th save of the season to help beat the Mets 5-3.
EDGE Analysis
Tuesday marked the first save opportunity since Barrett officially took over the closer role on July 31st. While he did have a four-run meltdown against the Nationals in a non-save situation on August 3rd, he has thrown three consecutive scoreless outings and lowered his ERA to 3.40. Barrett did blow three of the five save chances he was given before July 31st, and Tyler Clippard does have experience closing games, so Barrett probably doesn't have as long a leash as some other closers. Still, at the moment Barrett seems to be the man for Arizona.
