Barrett got another save opportunity Wednesday, but allowed a two-run homer before being pulled after just 0.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Barrett walked Alejando De Aza to start the ninth, and then served up a two-run home run to pinch hitter Kelly Johnson for the blown save. Barrett wasn't even afforded the opportunity to finish the inning, and got pulled right after the homer. The D-Backs eventually came back to win the game in extra innings, but the poor outing doesn't bode well for Barrett, who has now blown four saves in just seven save opportunities. Barrett was recently named the full-time closer, but Wednesday marked his second rough outing in the past week. If Barrett retains the closer job after this recent implosion, he'll certainly be on thin ice moving forward. His ERA climbed to 3.80.
