Barney will bat seventh and get the start at second base Wednesday against the Giants, Barry Davis of Sportsnet reports.

Barney has, in a limited sample size, been off to a tremendous start this season, hitting for a .357/.400/.452 slash line in 17 games. His ability to play both second and third base will get him into the lineup more often, coupled with Ryan Goins' wretched start at the plate. In his last three starts, Barney has multiple hits in each and is line for more playing time until Devon Travis returns.
