Barney is out of the lineup Sunday against the Astros, Barry Davis of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
The infield core of Devon Travis, Troy Tulowitzki and Josh Donaldson has been able to stay healthy since the All-Star break and deny Barney many opportunities around the diamond, but the versatile utility man has been able to stay fresh by seeing semi-regular action in the outfield. While the Blue Jays added Kevin Pillar and Jose Bautista to the DL last week, it hasn't led to extended action for Barney, who will sit for the third day in a row. It looks like he could be forced to occupy the short end of a platoon in left field with recent call-up Darrell Ceciliani, a lefty hitter who has started each of the last three games with the Astros bringing right-handed starting pitchers to the hill.
