Barnes was claimed off waivers by the Rangers on Monday. The lefty reliever spent 2014 at Triple-A with the Orioles, posting a 3.69 ERA in 31.2 innings. His 35:16 K:BB ratio over that span suggests he might have the stuff to make it in a low-leverage role out of the Rangers' bullpen, but this is not a potential eighth or ninth inning arm.
