Baker was released Sunday, The Westchester Journal News reports. Baker signed on with the club in January, but was always viewed as a long shot to win a spot on the Opening Day roster. The club intends to re-sign him and slot him into their Triple-A rotation, but for the time being the 33-year-old is once again a free agent.
