Spitzbarth was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.

The 26-year-old has been at Triple-A since mid-August and will rejoin the big-league club Sunday with JT Brubaker (shoulder) and Duane Underwood (shoulder) headed to the injured list. Spitzbarth has covered only 3.1 frames in the majors this season but has a 1.56 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 34:17 K:BB over 40.1 innings at Indianapolis.
