Avila (knee) will likely be activated from the disabled list Friday, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports. Avila isn't with Triple-A Toledo, suggesting his rehab assignment has come to an end. If that indeed is the case, he'll finish the assignment with six hits (including a home run) in 20 at-bats. James McCann has more than held his own in Avila's absence, but the veteran still figures to get most of the playing time behind the plate.
