Avila is slated to begin running soon and is expected to return to catching activities later this week, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports. Avila was cleared to resume baseball activities last week after an MRI revealed no structural damage in his knee. The catcher is still a ways away from returning to the Tigers, but the team hopes to have him back around the All-Star break.
