Athletics trainer trainer Nick Paparesta said Tuesday that Coco Crisp has "some chronic degenerative changes" in his neck. Crisp was initially injured back on May 7 and has dealt with pain his his neck off-and-on since then. He'll avoid the disabled list for now and could return to the lineup as soon as Friday, but it's something that the outfielder is "going to battle throughout the season," Paparesta said. "Now we're trying to figure out what the next course would be to alleviate some of the issues that he's having," manager Bob Melvin added, "whether it's medication or whatever."
