Astros manager A.J. Hinch said he has not given up on the idea of Gattis catching games this season, the Houston Chronicle reports.

After catching regularly for the Braves during his two seasons in Atlanta, Gattis was used only in left field and at DH in 2015 by Houston. If nothing else, Gattis may see enough time to pick up in-season eligibility behind the plate in some leagues, even if he doesn't pile up the typical 20-plus needed to become an option for fantasy owners behind the dish in 2017. He may return to the Astros as soon as Tuesday, assuming that all goes as planned in his rehab game at Double-A Corpus Christi on Monday.
