The Oakland Athletics placed outfielder Seth Brown (oblique) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to April 9) on Monday and recalled infielder Kevin Smith from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. Brown injured his oblique over the weekend and will now miss at least a bit of time.
