Angels signed RHP Joel Pineiro to a minor league contract. Pineiro wasted no time catching on with another club after being released by the Cubs. He'll start for the Angels' Triple-A Salt Lake affiliate on Saturday. The right-hander had a 4.43 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in 22 1/3 innings with the Cubs' Double-A affiliate before being released.
