Angels signed RHP Brandon Lyon to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Lyon was released by the Mets last July after posting a 4.93 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in 37 relief appearances. He then signed on with the Red Sox but never got a look at the major league level. The 34-year-old right-hander will struggle to make Anaheim's roster.
