Angels optioned RHP Matt Shoemaker to Triple-A Salt Lake. Shoemaker has a 3.18 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts in 22 2/3 innings this season, but that wasn't enough to save his job. He should get another shot later this year.
