Andriese is a leading candidate to temporarily fill in as a member of the Rays' rotation to begin the season, the Tampa Tribune reports. Enny Romero and Everett Teaford may also be options, along with Mike Montgomery, although Montgomery was previously moved into a relief role. Andriese and Burch Smith will likely handle the fourth and fifth spots in the rotation, while Nate Karns seems to be slightly ahead of them in the pecking order as the third option with Drew Smyly (shoulder), Alex Cobb (forearm), and Alex Colome (pneumonia) expected to miss the beginning of the season.
