Andriese (6-4) struck out eight but gave up six earned runs on eight hits on five innings in Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The righty's stat line was somewhat unusual, given the fact he surrendered four homers but also recorded a season high in strikeouts. Andriese fired 56 of 76 pitches for strkies, and notched 13 swinging strikes overall. However, he also gave up back-to-back homers to call-ups Tyler Austin and Aaron Judge in the second, followed by a solo shot by Starlin Castro in the fourth. Aaron Hicks then put a cap on Andriese's forgettable start with a three-run blast in the fifth that plated Judge and Jacoby Ellsbury, sending him to his fourth loss in his last four decisions. The 26-year-old will try to rebound when takes on the Rangers next Friday.
