Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hip) will serve as the designated hitter and bat eighth on Opening Day on Friday against Detroit Tigers left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez. Vaughn dealt with a hip pointer injury in camp but will be good to go for the first regular season game on Friday.
