Andrew Cashner will need three months of recovery time after requiring surgery to repair a lacerated tendon in his right thumb. Cashner suffered the injury during a hunting trip when a friend slipped and nicked the righty with his knife. Padres manager Bud Black referred to the injury as "very minor," but three months of down time is nothing to sneeze at. He'll get a late start to spring training and faces an uphill battle being ready for Opening Day.
