Andrew Brown smacked a solo homer in Saturday's loss to the Pirates. Brown, who was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas last weekend, made the start in left field Saturday. The home run was off left-hander Tony Watson in the ninth inning. The 28-year-old has posed some big numbers in the minors, particularly against southpaws, but it has yet to translate during sporadic at-bats at the major league level. The Mets are struggling to get any production out of their outfield, so the opportunity is there for the taking.
