Anderson had his contract selected from Triple-A Buffalo and will start Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson is set to make his first start for the Blue Jays after joining the team on a minor-league contract earlier in the month. The 29-year-old has started a pair of games for Triple-A Buffalo since being acquired by Toronto, allowing just one run over a combined 9.2 innings in those outings. It may be unwise to expect similar results in the majors however, seeing as he struggled to an unsightly 8.18 ERA and 2.09 WHIP in 22 innings (six starts) with the Cubs earlier in the season before injuring his back. Leonol Campos was sent to the minors to clear room on the roster for Anderson.
