Anderson (5-10) tossed five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five Diamondbacks in Monday's win against his former team.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson pitched deeper into Monday's game than he had in any of his previous five starts. He allowed fewer than two walks and won a game for the first time since June 8 against Oakland. The win is bitter sweet for Anderson, who went 15-13 in 48 starts the past two seasons for Arizona. It's always nice to beat the team that traded you, yet the 28-year-old righty is having the worst season of his short three-year career. He'll take a 5.40 ERA and 1.45 WHIP into his next start Saturday against the Pirates.
