Anderson (2-3) turned in a strong Blue Jays debut -- one run in 5.2 innings -- but still absorbed the loss in a shutout defeat at the hands of the Red Sox on Tuesday. He struck out three without a walk while allowing six hits.
EDGE Analysis
Making his first start in the majors since May 6, Anderson was sharp, but Chris Sale was a monster on the other side. It's been an ugly season for Anderson, who has been limited to eight starts by a back injury and was released by the Cubs earlier this month, but perhaps a fresh start with Toronto was just what he needed. Still, expectations for the oft-injured lefty should remain in check.
