Alvarez gave up three earned runs on three hits and a walk in 1.2 innings of work in the Angels' 5-0 loss to the White Sox on Tuesday.

Alvarez fired his first poor performance of 2016 as he had not given up a run in seven appearances prior. The lefty is coming off a 2015 campaign where he posted a 3.49 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over 67 innings. The 26-year-old will try to produce similar numbers in a mid-to-late inning relief role for the Angles in 2016.
