Alvarado is expected to be recalled by the Rays on Wednesday, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The team has yet to formally announce the move, but Alvarado is reportedly en route to Tampa Bay. Alvarado, 21, has posted impressive numbers through nine appearances with Double-A Montgomery this season (2.38 ERA, 0.79 WHIP), holding same-handed hitters to a .125 average in the small sample. He will become the lone lefty in the Rays' bullpen.
