EDGE Analysis
Alonso was an integral component of another Mariners' offensive explosion, extending Seattle's lead to 5-1 with his fifth-inning two-bagger with the bases loaded. The 30-year-old feasted on Rangers pitching over the last two games of the four-game set, going 5-for-8 with Thursday's three RBI, a walk and a run. Alonso also has a trio of multi-hit efforts thus far in September, although he's notched only two extra-base hits (one double, one home run) in 37 plate appearances during the month.
