Alonso went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 8-6 win over Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
After crushing two long balls Saturday night, the left-handed first baseman was back at it again. It was Alonso's fifth home run in the last six games, and he now has nine on the year, which tied his career high in 2012. He's now up to a slash line of .311/.386/.667 and has sacrificed contact (career-high 21.8 percent strikeout rate) for power and fly balls (career-high 49.2 percent fly-ball rate). While Alonso's HR/FB of 25.0 percent will come down drastically, it appears he'll be a more consistent source of power for fantasy owners in 2017. Selling high at this point wouldn't a bad idea.
