With a .351 on-base percentage, four homers and 14 RBI over 74 plate appearances this season, Alonso has been a key contributor for the Athletics, but that won't stop manager Bob Melvin from continuing to shield the first baseman against left-handed pitching. The righty-hitting Ryon Healy will draw the start at first base Sunday against Astros southpaw Dallas Keuchel.
