Alonso has been ruled out Friday after he jammed his right shoulder in Thursday's game, MLB.com's Barry Bloom reports. The Padres already know that Alonso's shoulder is not dislocated, which is good, and he will have an MRI Friday to determine the extent of the injury. He has already missed two games this year after being hit by a pitch in the same area, but manager Bud Black did not seem to think it would be a long-term injury. Consider him questionable for the rest of this weekend's series. Will Middlebrooks, Yangervis Solarte or Wil Myers would all be options to get the start at first base Friday.
