Alonso exited Tuesday's game against the Marlins after being hit on the hand by a pitch, John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a tough turn of events as Alonso was making his return from a four-game absence and had clubbed his 13th home run earlier in the contest. He was hit by a Jarlin Garcia offering and briefly stayed in the game to run for himself, but was replaced by Mark Canha at first base for the top of the seventh inning. There's no word yet on the extent of Alonso's injury, but this will be something to monitor throughout the day Wednesday. Ryon Healy would likely fill in at first base if Alonso has to miss additional time beyond Tuesday.
