Allen was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday, Bill Center of MLB.com reports.

Allen was called up Friday to replace Austin Hedges, who was placed on the bereavement list to begin the second half of the season, but he failed to collect a hit in two at-bats. Allen will head back down to Triple-A now that Hedges has been reinstated.
