Alfredo Aceves' agent, Tom O'Connell, was told by Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington Monday that the team will not tolerate any more of the righty's antics. Aceves, who has a lengthy history of rubbing people the wrong way, refused to throw at full strength during a live batting practice session Sunday. He then performed the drill as intended after being confronted by manager John Farrell. A source told CSN New England's Sean McAdam that the club feels as though Aceves was "absolutely" testing the waters with his new manager. The right-hander prefers to start but will be used in the bullpen for Boston this season.
