Alex Avila finished 3-for-4 with two RBI in the Tigers' loss to the Royals on Saturday night. Avila is still batting just .185/.284/.302 this season and looks like a shell of the guy who slugged 19 homers alongside an .895 OPS in 2011. He's been messing with the mechanics of his swing, which might just be complicating matters. But it did pay off on Saturday.
