Alex Avila (concussion) was removed from Thursday's rehab start with Triple-A Toledo due to a headache. The Tigers are being extremely cautious with Avila, who has been sidelined with concussion symptoms since August 10. He was able to catch three innings in Thursday's game before being removed, and could return to the lineup as a DH on Saturday.
