Alex Avila (concussion) could begin a minor league rehab assignment Thursday. That's assuming he makes it through Wednesday's workouts with no issues. The Tigers have yet to decide how many games he'll need in the minors. Avila has been sidelined since August 10 with concussion symptoms.
