McKinstry has been in the minors since the start of the regular season, but he'll join the Dodgers as a precaution ahead of their road trip to San Diego and Arizona since Gavin Lux (back) is day-to-day. However, Lux is expected to return to the lineup Friday, and manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that the team doesn't currently have plans to add McKinstry to the active roster.
