Blankenhorn was included in Minnesota's 60-man player pool ahead of summer camp before the 2020 season begins, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blankenhorn was optioned to Triple-A Rochester after spring training was shut down due to the pandemic. Blankenhorn does not have a clear defensive home -- he is passable at second base and third base but doesn't excel anywhere. However, his bat could carry him to some sort of big-league role if the Twins need depth. He hit .278/.312/.474 with 18 home runs and 11 steals in 93 games at Double-A. He'll likely begin the season at Minnesota's alternate training site.
