Adames was optioned to the minors on Saturday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. The Rockies will lean on their more experienced options for infield depth early on and allow Adames to continue his development with everyday at-bats at Triple-A. Adames, a 23-year-old switch-hitter, went 13-for-39 (.333 average) with two doubles, three RBI, one walk and four strikeouts in 19 spring games with the major league team, after batting .338/.392/.441 in limited action at Triple-A Colorado Springs at the end of last season.
