Adames, 23, is slashing .302/.367/.451 across 184 plate appearances at Triple-A Albuquerque. To an extent, Adames has been able to rewrite the narrative that he's a glove-only prospect, as his .148 ISO is a higher mark than he's posted at any level of the minors where he's received at least 100 plate appearances. Even so, Adames remains a more accomplished defender than an offensive threat, which will likely limit him to a utility role when he permanently settles in the majors. For now, the Rockies are content to let Adames handle an everyday role at Triple-A with Troy Tulowitzki in place at shortstop for the big club.
