Adames, 23, is batting .338/.403/.538 over 74 plate appearances with Triple-A Albuquerque. Adames has made his most significant strides in the early going with his plate discipline, as his 8.1 percent strikeout rate represents a significant improvement from the 15.3 percent mark he posted over 543 plate appearances between Double-A and Triple-A last season. The infielder is probably already a major-league caliber defender, but there remain some lingering doubts about his ability to thrive offensively at the next level. He looked overmatched in his first exposure to the majors late last season, recording just one hit in 15 at-bats.
