Adam Wainwright threw his fourth complete game of the season on Saturday, limiting the A's to one run as the Cardinals won 7-1. Wainwright actually had a three-hit gem going into the seventh inning before the A's pushed a run across, but he still finished with just five hits and two walks allowed while striking out eight. The right-hander moved to 11-5 with a 2.22 ERA and 0.99 WHIP on the year, and he'd be firmly in the running for the starting pitcher gig in the All-Star game were he not in the same league as Matt Harvey. Still, the Cardinals' ace is having another fantastic season.
