Adam Wainwright struck out 11 and yielded just one run over seven innings in Sunday's victory against the Cubs. He scattered five hits and walked just one in improving to 14-7. Wainwright's 11 whiffs were the most he's had in an outing since striking out 12 Brewers in a complete game shutout back in April. The right-hander is first in the NL in wins, second in innings pitched (189 2/3), third in strikeouts (173), fifth in ERA (2.66) and sixth in WHIP (1.04). The Cardinals are getting their money's worth on Wainwright's $12 million salary in 2013.
