Adam Wainwright struck out 10 batters over 5 2/3 innings Sunday in the Cardinals' NLDS Game 1 loss. Waino was lethal with his curveball and limited the visiting Nationals to just one earned run, but the St. Louis bullpen blew it in the eighth inning. The 10 strikeouts were the most by a Cardinals pitcher since Bob Gibson fanned 17 Tigers in Game 4 of the 1968 World Series.
