Adam Wainwright notched his ninth win over the season Friday by allowing two runs in seven innings as part of a 9-2 victory over the Reds. He's now tied with Arizona's Patrick Corbin for the NL-lead with nine victories. Wainwright scattered seven hits while walking one and fanning seven. He has allowed three runs or fewer in all but one of his starts this season and has yet to walk more than one batter in any of them. With a 2.34 ERA and a crazy 91/7 K/BB ratio, the Cardinals' ace is looking like one of the early favorites for the NL Cy Young award. He has a favorable matchup against the lowly Mets next week.
